Minimum Deposit: £250 for the Full Level 3 Diplomas.

We offer instalment monthly plans for the remaining balance. All fees must be paid before the end of the course.



Course Overview

Scientific and medical opinion is increasingly open to the idea of the range of forms of therapy and treatment constituting a body. Complementary Therapies provide a valuable and effective addition and/or alternative to Western ‘scientific’ medicine. 

Given its international status - with teaching and administrative staff as well as students drawn from a wide variety of social backgrounds and coming from many different countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean – South London College is keen to offer the widest possible range of courses in the health studies area.

 

Diploma in Complementary Therapy L3

  • One-year programme comprised of 3 major therapies - Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy. 
  • Students will qualify and have the opportunity to become a versatile, professional practitioner. 
  • Taught for 22.5 hours (3 days) a week, over a 24 week period.

The course comprises of the following:

  • Diploma in Aromatherapy Level 3
  • Diploma in Massage Level 3
  • Diploma in Reflexology Level 3


Includes core modules of Anatomy & Physiology and Professional Conduct.


Choose A Level 3 Diploma

  • Study up to two of the three available diplomas. 
  • If you have a particular interest in a certain therapy or already hold some qualifications and wish to expand your repertoire, this may be the option for you.

There is a choice of up to two of the following:

  • Diploma in Aromatherapy -7.5 hours (1 day) a week over a 24 week period - £1550 £850
  • Diploma in Massage -7.5 hours (1 day) a week over a 24 week period £1550  £850
  • Diploma in Reflexology -7.5 hours (1 day) a week over a 24 week period £1550  £850


Try A 'Taster' Session

  • Intended for those who wish to learn the skills and techniques.
  • Students will be able to carry out learned techniques with friends and family but not work as a practitioner.
  • students will have the option to upgrade to the full qualification.

Students can choose 1 therapy at a time to study over 12 weeks or any combination of the following to be studied at one time over 12 weeks:

  • Aromatherapy -7.5 hours a week (1 day) for 4 weeks - £150
  • Massage -7.5 hours a week (1 day) for 4 weeks - £150
  • Reflexology -7.5 hours a week (1 day) for 4 weeks - £150


Students who wish to upgrade:

If a student wishes to upgrade from a 'taster session' to study a L3 Diploma in their chosen therapy:

  • The student must inform us in writing before the course has expired if they want to upgrade. 
  • Students then pay the difference between the 'taster session' price and the L3 Diploma price.


What Does The Qualification Mean? 

An ITEC qualification proves you have:

  • full knowledge and understanding of the subject
  • the highest level of practical skills
  • certainty that you are a professional therapist able to work internationally

ITEC:

  • Registers and inspects colleges delivering ITEC programmes
  • Requires rigorous standards for training
  • Provides an independent examination system that tests your underpinning knowledge and skills giving you the confidence to work as a professional therapist

ITEC graduates from South London College may work:

  • As salon/clinic owners or as visiting therapists
  • In spas, clinics, salons and health farms
  • In the Health Service
  • At sports centres, clubs and leisure centres
  • On cruise liners

What salary and other benefits can I expect when I am qualified?

Complementary Medicine Therapists can expect to earn anything between £15,000 and £27,000 per year.

Where next?

Upon completion of the course students can:

  • Move into management and run their own salon
  • Cruise the world whilst working on a liner
  • Pamper airline passengers and fly from country to country
  • Work in Health Farms, Health Centres, Day Spas, Sports Clubs or Leisure Centres
  • Teach and become a lecturer at a further education college or at a private centre
  • Work from home as a freelance therapist or in major department stores

UK Student
4 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or the   equivalent.

Overseas Students

4 GCSEs at   Grade C or above, or the equivalent.

English   Requirement

Pearson:   36

IELTS   Requirement: 5.0 (minimum of 4.0 in any band)

Students shall merit special consideration in individual, exceptional circumstances.
